La Spezia is the gateway to the Cinque Terre. From us the station is a 2-minute walk: no car, no hunting for parking, no time wasted.

By Train to the Cinque Terre

Getting to La Spezia

By plane

  • Pisa (PSA) — the most convenient airport. PisaMover to Pisa Centrale, then a direct train: about 1h15 in total.
  • Genoa (GOA) — shuttle or taxi to Genoa Piazza Principe, then train: about 2 hours.
  • Florence (FLR) / Milan (MXP, LIN, BGY) — reachable by train in about 2h30 and 3–4 hours respectively.

By Train

  • La Spezia Centrale is served by high-speed and Intercity trains from Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence and Genoa.
  • From the station we're a 2-minute walk, slightly downhill: no taxi or bus needed.
  • Please note: get off at "La Spezia Centrale", not "La Spezia Migliarina".

By Car

  • A12 motorway Genoa–Livorno, exit La Spezia Santo Stefano, then about 10 minutes to the centre.
  • Private parking, covered and under video surveillance, with keypad access: €24 a day. Spaces are limited: it has to be booked in advance together with the room, subject to availability.
  • Our tip: leave the car here and travel by train. Parking in the Cinque Terre is difficult and expensive.

By Ship or Boat

  • La Spezia's cruise terminal is just minutes away.
  • Boats to Portovenere, Lerici and the Cinque Terre leave from Molo Italia (seasonal service).

The currency is the euro (€). There are several cash machines within a 5-minute walk.

Tourist Tax

Municipal tourist tax: €2.50 per person per night, payable on site and not included in the room price. It does not apply to children aged 0 to 15 inclusive.

Parking

Private parking, covered and under video surveillance, with keypad access: €24 a day. Spaces are limited: it has to be booked in advance together with the room, subject to availability.

Luggage Storage

Free, before check-in and after check-out. Arrive early or leave late without a worry.

Pets

Pets are not allowed, in either of the two properties.

When to Come

March – May

Mild weather, trails at their best, few crowds. The sea is still cool for swimming.

June – August

Warm sea and long days, but also the busiest period. Best to set off early in the morning.

September – October

For many the best time: the sea still warm, beautiful light, harvest on the terraces.

November – February

Quiet villages and low prices. Some tourist services and trails are closed.
